Our Feature Business of the Month for May 2012 is Floyd's RV Park located at 1438 Hwy. 50 in Penrose.
Floyd's RV Park is owned & operated by Floyd & Iletta Fields. The Fields have lived here most of their lives. Floyd started his first business at the age of 21. Floyd & Iletta opened Floyd's RV Park in 1986 & also joined the Chamber in 1986, which would make them the oldest business member the chamber has now. The RV Park is a beautiful park off highway 50 with 40 full hook-ups, showers, & laundry room. The Park sits on 17 acres & is a year- round park. You will find a very comfortable atmosphere there anytime you're there. Floyd & Iletta enjoy the tourists who stay there & it shows. They meet people from all of the world, ex. Australia & New Zealand. They do have guests who stay there year round. After driving through the park, I sure understand why. Floyd & Iletta said it was a great honor to be chosen Business of the Month for May. Floyd & Iletta enjoy the community & the rural living, that's why they're here. They're Country! A Talent Show for 1st through 5th graders. Auditions are May 8th@4:00 pm(sign up for a time slot) Performances on May 18th@6:00pm in the Historic Penrose Gymnasium
Can you sing, dance, act, perform, do magic, tell a funny joke, or have a special talent? Individuals or Groups Welcome!
*To participate, students must submit a script audition night,& any final changes to script must be submitted by May 16th.
*Students must be in attendance all day on performance day.
*Use of the stage or gym to practice will be available on May 10th & 17th from 3:30-5:00 pm
*No other school time will be available for practice.
The Garden Wall Floral Company will be giving one arrangement to a different special citizen in the community (Cañon City, Penrose, or Florence) once a week for the next year. Perhaps a teacher, waitress, garbage man, policeman, fireman, neighbor...anyone you believe should have their week brightened by a bouquet of Flowers!

“Team Penrose”
We are a newly developed team for Orchard of Hope. They have teams that each raise monies for the Orchard of Hope Foundation. The Orchard of Hope Foundation is a non-profit, organization that is dedicated to improving the quality of life for cancer champions in Fremont County. Our team, “Team Penrose” will represent the whole area of Penrose. We hope that everyone in Penrose will get involved, whether you walk in the “Walk for Hope” or donate items, money, time, or energy.
We are fortunate that E & R Enterprises have sponsored Team Penrose. Our team captain is Rose Lindley. Please don’t sit on the sidelines and worry about getting slivers, join the team! The Penrose Team!

This year we will be featuring gift baskets filled with merchandise, which we hope our community will help donate. At the Orchard of Hope, 12th Annual Walk for Hope at Veteran's Park in Canon City, we will have these filled baskets there in which the public may buy drawing tickets for a the baskets in hopes to win them. The money made from the drawing tickets will go to Orchard of Hope Foundation.
We have five featured baskets: Pamper Me, Kitchen, Man’s, Kids, and Pet’s. Donations of new items that fit these categories will be greatly appreciated, and cash is always welcome.
Please remember all proceeds go to Orchard of Hope.
